Welcome to the website for Jymme Golden, massage therapist.
Therapeutic massage involves the manual manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and skin) to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress. It also promotes health and wellness. My intention is to facilitate mind/body wellness and to help each client better cope with the physical and emotional stresses of her or his life. Here you’ll find, a client centered approach to massage therapy. This means every massage is geared to meeting each client’s specific needs and goals for that treatment session.
Massage therapy can improve functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems and has been shown to improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. Although massage therapy does not increase muscle strength, it can stimulate weak, inactive muscles, and thus, partially compensate for the lack of exercise and inactivity resulting from illness or injury. It also can hasten and lead to a more complete recovery from exercise or injury. Massage involves holding, stretching and moving of soft tissue, and applying pressure to the body. It comes in many forms. The three main techniques offered by Jymmeare Relaxation Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy and Connective Tissue Massage.
The Mayo Clinic website states:
Use massage as another health care tool
Brush aside any thoughts that massage is only a feel-good way to indulge or pamper yourself. To the contrary, massage can be a powerful tool to help you take charge of your health and well-being, whether you have a specific health condition or are just looking for another stress reliever.
